Who we are

The AECE Studio provides Overtorque, a racing game for Android and Google Play Games on PC, and this website. This policy applies to the game, this website, and information you send us for support. Contact us at theaece@theaecestudio.com (primary) or theacemcquid@gmail.com (backup).

Information and how it is used

Progress on your device

Overtorque stores your progress and preferences on your device: level and experience, credits, TorqueTokens, owned and upgraded cars, paint, liveries and other cosmetics, modules, career and championship progress, season pass progress, challenges, badges, race records, and settings such as controls, sound and frame rate. A race in progress can be saved so it resumes after an interruption. This lets the game keep your progress and show your records. If you sign in with Google Play Games, a copy is also kept in your Google account as a cloud save (see below).

Google Play Games

When you sign in with Google Play Games, Google processes your Play Games identity and service data. The game receives your Play Games player identifier and display name (and may show your avatar) to recognise your profile. Cloud save: while you are signed in, the game keeps a copy of your progress in Play Games Saved Games, stored by Google in your Google account, so you can restore it after reinstalling or on a new device. The game never replaces your progress with the cloud copy without asking you. You can delete saved game data from your Google account settings. Google's Play Games software also processes diagnostics for its own service. Your profile's visibility follows your Google settings. We do not receive your Google password. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Optional purchases

Optional purchases (TorqueTokens and the season premium pass) are processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles your payment details. We receive the product identifier, an order number and a purchase token. Our purchase service checks each purchase with Google and records it against your online account, so it is delivered once and can be restored. Purchases are for cosmetic items only. Overtorque uses Unity's in-app purchasing library, which sends Unity Technologies the essential technical information it needs to operate.

Optional rewarded video

Overtorque may offer an optional rewarded video after an eligible solo Quick Race or Career race, or after the final race in a Championship. If you choose to watch it, the game can award 50 in-game credits (CR). The offer is limited to three per day and one attempt every ten minutes. Watching is optional and does not affect experience points, rankings, race results or the normal race reward. The game does not show banner, interstitial or app-open ads.

Overtorque includes Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Its SDK automatically processes information to operate, measure and protect its services. The game requests and shows a rewarded video only when you choose the offer and the applicable consent flow permits it. Google's published Android SDK disclosure lists IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), app and ad interactions such as taps and video views, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers such as the Android advertising ID and App Set ID. Google describes these practices in its Google Mobile Ads privacy disclosure. Ad requests and delivery depend on the privacy choices available for your location. The game's Ad privacy choices entry opens Google's form when the option is available; the game requests a consent form from the rewarded-ad action when one is required. You can also manage the Android advertising ID in Android settings.

If an ad is completed, AdMob sends a signed verification callback to our rewarded-ad service. The service checks the callback and records a one-time reward receipt using an offer reference, player/account association, race reference, reward amount, transaction reference and timestamps. The game applies the verified receipt to your local credit balance. The service does not accept a client claim alone as proof that an ad was watched. Supabase hosts this service. Google and Supabase process information under their respective terms and privacy policies.

Analytics, crash reports and remote configuration

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are separate optional settings in the game and are off by default. If you turn on usage analytics, Firebase Analytics receives which game screens you open, race mode and circuit, whether you finish, your place and race time, and rewarded-ad flow status, along with information its SDK uses to measure app use, such as app and device metadata and installation identifiers. If you turn on crash diagnostics, Firebase Crashlytics may receive crash reports, stack traces, app version, operating system and device details, and identifiers used to group crash reports. You can change either choice in the game's Privacy settings. Turning a setting off stops future collection by that feature; data already received by Google cannot be removed by the game's local switch.

Firebase Remote Config retrieves a small set of game settings, including whether the optional rewarded placement is enabled and its use limits. The setting defaults to off. If the game has already received an enabled setting, its cached value may remain active while the device is offline. Firebase Remote Config automatically processes a Firebase installation identifier, country and language codes, time zone, Android/platform version, app identifier and Remote Config SDK version to return configuration. This request is separate from the optional Analytics and Crashlytics switches. Google processes this information under its Firebase privacy information.

Support and privacy requests

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you choose to attach, and use them to respond, investigate an issue or handle your request. Please do not send passwords or payment details.

This website

This website does not set its own tracking cookies. Cloudflare may add security and performance scripts, including a Web Analytics beacon, when it delivers the page. Our web server keeps access logs (IP address, time, page requested and browser type) for security and troubleshooting; they are deleted through daily rotation within 15 days. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes visitor IP addresses to protect and deliver it.

Online play

Online features are optional; you can play solo without them. In versions of the game that include online play:

  • Your online profile. When you sign in for online play, our game service receives a Google-verified Play Games player identifier and display name. It stores your online account: your Play Games player identifier, display name and the purchases checked for you. When you look for a race, our matchmaking service briefly holds your room and connection details to match you with other players.
  • Connections to other players. Online races connect your device directly to other players' devices, or through our relay server when a direct connection is not possible. The devices in your race and our relay receive your device's IP address and the race data needed to play, such as your car, position, driving inputs, weapon use and display name. Every online race is hosted on one player's device, never on our servers, and the host may change during a race if a player leaves. Please do not race online if you do not want other players' devices to receive your IP address.
  • Results. The hosting device works out race results. Your display name and results can be seen by the other players in your race.
  • Fair play. To prevent cheating and abuse, we keep race results and reports, and may review race data connected to a report.

We do not request your email address, contacts or location for online play. Online session tokens are stored using your device's secure storage and expire.

Services and sharing

We use these providers to run Overtorque. They process information on our behalf or under their own terms:

  • Google: Google Play, Play Games Services, Play Billing, AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config.
  • Supabase: hosts our online accounts, purchase records and purchase checks, and the rewarded-ad verification and receipt service, in the United States.
  • Our server: a server we operate in the United States that matches players into races and relays online connections. It does not host races.
  • Unity Technologies: the game engine and in-app purchasing library.
  • Cloudflare: delivers and protects this website.

Other players receive the information described under Online play. We do not sell your personal information. AdMob's SDK states that it collects and shares IP address, app interactions, diagnostic information, and device/account identifiers with Google for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Firebase and other providers process data to provide their services and under their own terms. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect players and our services from fraud or abuse. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate.

Retention and security

Progress on your device stays until you delete it. Your online account and purchase records are kept while your online account exists, and deleted when you ask us to delete it, except records we must keep by law (for example purchase and tax records). Relay connection logs (IP address, time and amount of data) are kept for security and abuse prevention and deleted within 30 days. Website logs are deleted within 15 days.

Connections to our online services and Firebase and AdMob traffic use HTTPS or TLS. Public matchmaking race connections use encryption. Private or LAN races currently send player details and gameplay between participating devices without transport encryption. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to information and keep only what we need.

Your choices

  • Play offline: solo modes do not need an online profile.
  • Sign out of Google Play Games, or manage its data, in your Google settings.
  • Change the separate usage analytics and crash diagnostics settings in the game's Privacy page. Use Ad privacy choices there when available.
  • Manage your Android advertising ID in Android settings. Google-held ad and Firebase data is subject to Google's controls and retention; an in-game setting cannot erase data already received by Google.
  • Ask us to access, correct or delete information we hold about you. See our account deletion page.
  • Manage purchases and subscriptions in Google Play.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Younger players

Overtorque is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for online play. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Contact and updates

We may update this policy as the game changes or as the law requires. We will change the effective date above, and tell you in the game or on this website about significant changes. Questions: theaece@theaecestudio.com (primary) or theacemcquid@gmail.com (backup).
